"A truly family business"
Laura Cuthbertson - Qualified Teacher
My name is Laura Cuthbertson and I own and manage Busy Bees along with my sister Ruth. I am a qualified teacher and I also have Early Years Professional Status which is a qualification that focuses on birth to 5. Other training I have been on is 'Beginning with Babies', 'Babble, giggle and words' and Paediatric First Aid. I also teach in Reception at Westfield Academy one day a week so I have an excellent knowledge of the next step our children will be taking when they move to school. I have a busy home life with my husband, Paul, and two children Ryan and Ella, who are both past Busy Bees and now attend Bourne Academy. I also have three dogs, two cats and lots of ducks! You may see Paul about helping us with odd jobs around Bees. |
Catherine Taylor
My name is Catherine Taylor and I am the founder of Busy Bees with my daughters Laura and Ruth. I started Busy Bees as a playgroup in my home in 1986 when my youngest daughter Ruth went to school. We soon outgrew my home and moved to the St. John Ambulance Hall where we spent many happy years as a pre-school. Over the years I have seen many changes to childcare and pride myself that we have always adapted and grown to suit the needs of the children. In 2012 we decided to take the big step of expanding Bees into a Day Nursery and we haven’t looked back! I have many staff working at Bees who started at the old premises and have joined us on our journey. I am incredibly proud to be able to say I work with my daughters and how popular Busy Bees has become over the years. Although I am now retired I love visiting Busy Bees and seeing all the amazing things the children are doing. In my spare time I love being with my three grandchildren, Ryan, Ella and Elliot and I also enjoy line dancing and walking my two dogs. Ruth Lister - Qualified Teacher
